Jef Nance is a former police detective and former trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.  During more than a decade in law enforcement he also served in a MSHP Drug Task Force, where he worked both as a covert undercover agent making hand-to-hand buys, and in an overt role managing investigations. 

He initiated and jointly headed Operation Speedbump, a federal methamphetamine conspiracy that spanned two years and resulted in the federal indictments and convictions of 27 people in California, Mexico, and the Midwest.
